I saw a pay phone the other day in a museum. It looked like a part of an exhibit to me because it has become a rare visual, an artifact. I liked all of the notes on it; static Post Its in a world of pop-ups and apps and scrolling, the slot to ingest the coins, the germ coated mouthpiece, the too short wire, the clank of the tiny, hopeful change door, the tension of the push on sticky buttons, the hope that you won't run out of change and that someone will answer.
